Hey everyone,

The following video is from a doctor and has a few good points to share about success with weight loss programs. Click on the video to watch it.

These are the 4 keys discussed in the video to weight loss success.

  1. Know that you can change.
  2. -Some diseases get their start with obesity.

  3. Know that most people diet hard not smart.
  4. - You have to change your environment.

  5. Be accountable to someone.
  6. -Walk 30 minutes and call a buddy. Get a little physical activity (30 minutes/5 days a week).
-Email or call a buddy every day.

  7. Dump the foods in your fridge
  8. -Change the foods you are eating. Saturated Fat, Salt, and Sugar are addictive and need to go.
“Rule of 5″, if it has any of these 5 things throw it out:

    1. Saturated Fat
    2. -4 legged animal fat, 2 legged animal skin, palm and coconut oil.

    3. Trans-fat
    4. Sugars
-anything ending in “ose”, like glucose, dextrose, maltose

    5. syrups
      -which are sugars in hiding

    6. Grain That Doesn’t Say 100% Whole Grain.
-If it just says “whole grain”, that could mean 1/8 of a percent according to the law. So 100% whole grain is necessary.

Bonus! Use a pedometer to count your steps and don’t go to sleep until you have taken at least 10,000 steps today.

and,

I wanted to update you on my progress with the Waifit program. I started Sept. 6
and have had the following success: I have lost a total of 11.75 inches, 10 mm on
the skinfold measures, 3 BMI percentage points and 5 pounds. I must say that I was
surprised that I could make such a difference in my overall health without losing a
lot more weight but my son who is a physician said that the assymetrical losses in
inches, and actual pounds is normal and will come off as I continue this effort – we
all need to remember that each of us responds to things a bit differently.
